Herb Garden

If you enjoy herbal tea or cooking with fresh herbs, there is no need to go to the farmer's market to get the herbs. Get a small container, make holes at the bottom, add some soil and plant your herbs. If you take good care of the plants, you should have a good number of herbs on your balcony. Whenever you are craving some herbal tea or preparing a meal, you can get what you need from there. If the balcony is very small, you can always use hanging pots. Nap Area

If you like taking naps during the afternoon or in the evening, make your balcony a nap area. Hang up some hooks and make a hammock. This will become a very good place to take a nap away from the noise. It can also come in handy when you want to look at the stars on a starry night. A balcony can be a great place to have drinks with friends. If you play cards, board games, or even have a book club, you can make your balcony a meeting place. Get some comfortable chairs, a small table, and some cushions for the chairs and this will be a very good meeting place to hang out and get some fresh air at the same time.

There are barbeque grills that you can attach to your railing on the balcony. If you enjoy entertaining on the weekends, you do not have to be limited by the fact that you live in an apartment. Get one of these grills, and share a nice barbeque with your friends on the weekends. This is also an idea that may be limited by building policies, so find out if it is allowed.

You can get mason jars and put candles inside them. When you light these up at night they will create a very attractive outdoor area. Here you can sit and relax by yourself, with your significant other, or a good friend. Have a beer or share some wine.
