Body Worlds: Animal Inside Out at the Zoo

From Body Worlds creator, this new exhibit presents 100 different specimens, each preserved by the process of Plastination. The exhibit is in the Otto Borchert Family Special Exhibits building at the Zoo. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for children (age 3 to 12). This is in addition to regular zoo admission and parking. This event runs May 6 through September 4. More details are available here.

2017 Walk to End Lupus

On Saturday, May 13, beginning at 10:00 a.m. this walk offers a chance for lupus patients, their families, and friends to come together to raise awareness and funds to fight lupus. The event takes place at Hoyt Park, 1800 N. Swan Blvd. Cost is $25 per adult and $15 per child through Wednesday, May 10. Cost goes up after this date. All early registrants receive a t-shirt. Wauwatosa Crime Stoppers - Pancakes With Mom

This is the 15th annual event which takes place on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14, at the Hart Park Muellner Building, 7300 W. Chestnut Street. Breakfast starts at 8:00 a.m. and goes until 11:30 a.m. Tickets are available at the door. $7.00 for adults, children 3-8 are $3.00, children 2 and under are free. Besides all you can eat pancakes, there are games for the kids, flowers for mom, and a raffle.

Tosa Pool at Hoyt Park

The Landing at Hoyt Park's outdoor beer garden begins its season on Wednesday, May 17, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Socialize and enjoy the outdoors in this relaxed environment.

The pool itself opens on Saturday, May 27 to kick off the summer swimming season.

Run Tosa Run

The run takes place on Saturday, May 20, on the streets of the beautiful tree-lined streets of the Tosa East Towne neighborhood. You can register online here.

The day starts with a 1/2 mile kids run at 8:30 a.m. This is recommended for children 10 and younger, with each runner getting a t-shirt and finisher's medal. The cost of the kids run is $8.00.

This is followed by the 5K run/walk at 9:00 a.m. Early bird pricing of $25 per person goes up to $30 after May 1. All early-bird registrations include a t-shirt. Late registrations get a shirt while supplies last. Post-race festivities include food, refreshments and giveaways.

Memorial Day Observance

Join the Wauwatosa Community Band, Mayor Kathy Ehley, and Guest Speaker Col. Dennis Konkel at Longfellow Middle School, 7600 W. North Ave. The observance begins at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 29

A Pilates Mat Class

BodyWork teamed up with Paradigm Pilates to offer this Pilates class. The goal of the class is to help you increase overall strength and flexibility while correcting posture, body alignment, and reducing joint and back pain, and more. This class takes place every Thursday morning in May from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at 1502 Underwood Avenue.
