Lung Force Walk at the Zoo on October 2, 2016
Time is running short to plan for the LUNG FORCE Walk at the Zoo this Sunday.
If you're not aware, this event raises awareness and funds to fight against lung cancer and for lung health. By joining the walk and helping to raise money, you can help make a difference in people's lives.
Here are some facts for you:
- More than 33 million people in the U.S. suffer from lung diseases including asthma, COPD, and others.
- If you have lungs, you can get lung cancer! And the occurence is rising in women, across all races and ethnicities.
- Lung cancer is the #1 cancer killer in America. Did you know this?
The money raised will support research, advocacy, education, and awareness. The research can lead to better early detection methods, treatments, and, ultimately, cures.
The event is at the Milwaukee County Zoo (10001 W. Bluemound Road, Milwaukee). Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. this Sunday, October 2. The walk itself begins at 9:00 a.m. There are light refreshments and music starting at 10:00 a.m.
Oh, and did I mention that if you show up to walk before 9:00, you get free admission and parking at the Zoo? Then you can stay all day and spend some quality time with giraffes, elephants, and large cats.
